Rabbi Michoel Bursztyn
We have just lived through a difficult period in Klal Yisroel’s history. Tragically, we have lost so many beloved
tzaddikim and talmidei chachamim. Our Shuls and Yeshivos were shuttered for months, and the fire of kol Torah
b’rabbim that is so much a part of our town was dimmed.
Baruch Hashem, it appears that we are past the worst of the pandemic, both in the physical and ruchniyusdige
realms. May Hashem continue protecting us.
As we joyously re-enter our batei midrashim and yeshivos, it is imperative that we do so with a renewed
appreciation of the importance of Torah. Let us show the Ribbono Shel Olam that we will use the lives and the
batei midrashim he has granted us to learn as much Torah, with as much cheshek, as we can.
In order to help our beautiful ihr haTorah live up to this calling, I am honored to inform you that a new evening
Kollel will be”H be established in our bais medrash, to begin Rosh Chodesh Elul.
Khal Chevra Shas was established at its current location a few short years ago, after being a bais Torah u’tefillah
in Lakewood for over two decades. The bais medrash is gebentched with a tzibur of יראים ושלימים who utilize our
bais medrash for Torah and tefillah of the highest caliber. During both daytime and evening hours, a resounding
kol Torah and pilpul chaverim reverberates between its walls. Yungerleit and baalebatim of all stripes find our bais
medrash to be a welcoming and comfortable makom Torah.
The new kollel will be”H take this limud haTorah to the next level. A group of our prized yungerleit will learn there
with an ironclad kvi’us, beautifying the entire kehillah and giving the Ribbono Shel Olam inestimable nachas.
It is with joy that I am turning to my chaverim and neighbors with the opportunity to join us in this heilige
endeavor. This is more than just a personal project. It is a zechus for the tzibbur and an iluy neshama for the
precious Yidden z”l the Lakewood Kehillah has tragically lost in recent months, and it can be your zechus too.
Your partnership in this limud haTorah will no doubt bestow the greatest berachos and zechusim upon you and
your family. It is a diamond to take with you to the Yom haDin, a diamond that can never be taken away.
Take the chance. Make it yours.
A great Yasher Koach in advance for considering to partner in this Kollel. May the Ribbono Shel Olam continue
protecting you, your family and all of Klal Yisroel.
